Check the System: iPadOS 17 or Later
On the iPad, open Settings → General → About and check "iPadOS Version" (older screens may show "Software Version"). You can continue if the version is 17 or later, such as 17, 18, or 26. If it is below 17, follow the next step to update first. You do not need to note the iPad model.
If the Version Is Below 17, Update the System First
- First back up important data on the device, then connect the iPad to power and to a Wi-Fi network with working internet access.
- Open Settings → General → Software Update and wait for the system check.
- When an update is available, tap "Download and Install" or "Update Now." Follow the on-screen prompt to enter this iPad's passcode, then wait for the installation and restart to finish. Keep the iPad connected to power during the update.
- After restarting, return to "About" and confirm that the system is iPadOS 17 or later. If it is still below 17 and no update is available, send the current system version and page message to official technical support for verification.
Check Available Storage: At Least 10 GB Recommended
Open Settings → General → iPad Storage and wait for the storage calculation at the top to finish. If only the used space and total capacity are shown, subtract the used space from the total capacity to get the available space. For example, if the total capacity is 128 GB and 110 GB is used, 18 GB remains.
To support daily shooting and processing, keep 10 GB or more free where possible. If storage is below 10 GB, first remove photos, files, or unused apps that are confirmed no longer needed, then return here to check again. Back up important photos first; do not delete Hi Cheese Photo or customer photos that have not been delivered. If you need technical help, provide official technical staff with the system version and available storage.
Connect Power and the Network
Go to Settings → Wi-Fi and connect to the store's Wi-Fi network. Open Safari and confirm that a regular webpage loads. If the network requires web authentication, complete it first. Downloading, device binding, and initial AI preparation all require internet access.
Use the Apple Account of the Store Owner or Software Purchaser
An Apple Account was previously called an Apple ID. It is also used for iCloud sign-in and for linking the software owner. It must be used by the store owner or software purchaser, who must retain long-term control of the email address and verification phone number. Do not use an employee's, temporary worker's, or another person's account, or a temporary email address, as future verification and use could be affected when staff change.
Open Settings and check whether the account of the person responsible appears in the top-left corner. If no account is signed in, follow the guide below to sign in. Only the account owner should enter the password and verification code on an official Apple page or in the system sign-in window; never send them to anyone. The email address that receives the invitation may be different from the Apple Account email address, but both must be accessible.
No Account: View Registration Steps · Existing Account: View Sign-In Steps
If an employee's or another person's account is signed in, contact the device manager to confirm ownership. Do not sign out or erase the device.
