Updates, Validity Periods, and Device Changes
Do not uninstall the old app; this is important for protecting store photos and settings. Before opening for business, the company must also confirm the distribution channel and business authorization.
When You Receive a New-Version Notice
First confirm the version and build announced by support team, complete a store-data backup, and spot-check that it opens. Update using the existing TestFlight eligibility without uninstalling first, and schedule the update when no customers are being photographed. Afterwards, check old projects, templates, and settings, then repeat shooting and QR-code checks for this build.
What to Do If an Update Causes Compatibility or Shooting Problems
Stop shooting for the moment. Record the current version, Build, error message, and what happened just before the issue, and keep the current app and local photos. Do not uninstall Hi Cheese Photo or try to downgrade by deleting the app; uninstalling may also remove photos that have not yet been delivered or backed up, along with templates and store settings.
When you need to use the previous version temporarily, open TestFlight, go to the Hi Cheese Photo app details, tap “Previous Builds”, find the previous version that is still available, and tap “Install”. After installation, use a staff practice record to check the camera connection, continuous shooting, finished-photo processing, and photo delivery. Resume customer service only after all checks pass.
Which Step Is Required After Upgrading from an Old Development Build
New releases check device authorization and Apple owner linking. Being able to use an older development build does not mean that an owner has been linked. If an authorization lock message appears after an update, keep the app and its data, then tap "Recheck Authorization" on the same iPad. Scan the QR code and use the customer's phone to complete Apple sign-in, then return to the iPad and recheck authorization.
Complete Owner Linking Step by StepAn owner who has already linked the app must use the original Apple Account. Changing iPads requires support team to relink the device; changing owners requires separate approval. Do not attempt to transfer ownership by reinstalling the app or signing out of the Apple Account.
Do Not Confuse the Four Validity Periods
The software license, Photo Live service, each cloud album, and the TestFlight build each have their own validity period. Check the authorization receipt, album expiration date, and TestFlight page for details. One being valid does not mean that the other three are automatically valid.
View the Four Validity PeriodsWhen Preparing to Change iPads
Before replacing the iPad, contact support to confirm how to move photos, themes, and settings. After installing the app on the new iPad, send the old and new device codes as instructed and wait for the authorization transfer to finish. Transferring authorization does not automatically move photos, templates, or settings, so move and check each item separately. Keep the old iPad and do not erase it in advance.
Back Up and Save Customer Photos Promptly
Photos on this device and those in the cloud album are separate and should not be treated as a single long-term backup. Cloud albums are currently retained for 7 days; refer to the actual expiration date. Deliver anything that must be kept using a confirmed method such as Share or Export in the app, then open it on another device to verify it. Do not wait until the album is about to expire before saving the files.
Update Promptly When Notified to Continue Using the App
TestFlight is Apple's official tool for installing test versions. Each test build can be used for up to 90 days from its upload date; this is not the service term of the software you purchased. The company may provide several version updates during that time. When you receive an update notice, install the valid new version supplied by the company before the old version expires to continue using it. If no update appears near expiry, contact official technical staff in advance.
